    Numerical simulation study on reasonable width of narrow coal pillars along gob road in inclined thick coal seam

    • In order to determine the reasonable width of the narrow coal pillar gob-side entry in the inclined thick coal seam,the stress distribution and deformation characteristics of the surrounding rock of the gob-side entry in the inclined coal seam are analyzed.The vertical stress distribution law of different width of coal pillar is analyzed.The results show that when the coal pillar width is more than 4 m,the stability of the stable area in the coal pillar is obvious.With the continuous increase of the coal pillar width,the stable core bearing area in the coal pillar increases continuously;according to the vertical stress during the roadway excavation,the stress distribution law and the stability analysis of the surrounding rock roadway determins that the reasonable width of the coal pillar is 4 m;the field measured data show that the width of the narrow coal pillar gob-side entry can effectively meet the stability requirements of the surrounding rock of the roadway.
