    Occurrence characteristics and utilization suggestions ofhigh sulfur and high ash coal in Shanxi province

    • The resources of high ash coal and high sulfur coal in Shanxi province are 47.366 billion tons and 84.2022 billion tons, accounting for 7.19% and 12.78% of the province's total coal resources respectively.The high sulfur coal in Shanxi province is mainly distributed in Liliu mining area and Xiangning mining area in Hedong coalfield, Taiyuan coal seam in Xiangfen mining area of Huoxi coalfield, and Taiyuan formation coal seam in Duerping mining area of Xishan coalfield, and Taiyuan formation coal seam in the southern part of the Qinshui coalfield.Sulfur in high sulfur coal is mainly composed of organic sulfur and iron sulfide.Shanxi high ash coal is mainly distributed in Shanxi formation coal seam of Tashan mining area and Yanzishan mining area in Datong coalfield and Liujialiang mining area in Ningwu coalfield.The ash in Shanxi high ash coal is high aluminum fly ash.Shanxi coal quality research should be strengthened, desulfurization and ash reduction technology, high sulfur coal blending coking technology and high ash and high sulfur coal gasification technology should be vigorously developed to achieve clean, high value and recycling utilization of high sulfur and high ash coal resources in the whole province.
