Metallogenic characteristics and prospecting direction of Pb-Zn deposit in Dakuangshan of western Yunnan

    • The Pb-Zn deposit in Dakuangshan is located in the west margin of Pinghe rock mass in contact with Silurian carbonate and Clastic rocks, and the ore-forming geological bodies of Pb-Zn deposits is interbedded fracture zones, cracks and fractured Skarn marble of the middle and upper Silurian. The main metallogenic structures are F5, F6 and F7 faults and cracks.Metallogenic structural plane is dominated by tectonic metallogenic structural plane. The Pb-Zn deposit minerals are galena, sphalerite, gangue minerals are mainly dolomite, a small amount of calcite, quartz; structure includes other granular structure, metasomatic structure, granular structure, columnar granular structure and fractoidal structure. The main structures are disseminated structure, veined structure and brecciated structure. The main types of wall rock alteration are Skarnization, pyritization and carbonation. The genetic type of Pb-Zn deposit belongs to Skarn type. The level of geology work in this area is low.At present, only Pb-Zn deposit bodies produced in marble at the far end of Skarn have been found.By combining the mineralization characteristics of Pb-Zn deposit and the distribution characteristics of induced polarization method anomalies, eight potential areas for prospecting have been selected. In the future, geology work should be paid to the ore-forming Pb-Zn deposits at the near end of Skarn.
