Cause analysis and preventive measures of karst collapse in a certain area of Shenzhen city

    • The karst development area in the east of Shenzhen city is the key urban area of Shenzhen’s eastward strategy. The karst collapse geological disaster in this area will pose a great threat to the infrastructure construction of the eastward strategy and the safety of people’s lives and property. After the dangerous situation of karst collapse occurred in a certain area of Shenzhen city, the emergency response and investigation and analysis are quickly started, and the causes and rules of karst collapse disaster are studied. The results show that this karst collapse is caused by many factors, including topography, geological structure, geological environment, groundwater level fluctuation and engineering construction activities.Geomorphology affects the distribution of karst development, and soluble rocks generally develop in the valley plain.Faults have a strong influence on karst development in the region, especially at the intersection of faults, where karst development is obvious and beaded karst caves are easy to form. The shallow karst development has the most obvious influence on the development and utilization of urban underground space and engineering construction.Engineering activities affect the fluctuation of groundwater, seriously destroy the balance of karst groundwater runoff system, cause a chain reaction of soil caves and caves, and easily induce karst collapse. The research results can provide practical experience for emergency countermeasures, prevention and control of karst ground collapse disaster in highly built-up areas.
