    Design and practice of automation in Fankou Lead-zinc Mine Concentrator

    • In order to improve the standard of intelligent automatical control and the economic benefits of the mine, a new 5 000 t/d concentrator with one single series is build to replace the concentrator withgrinding and flotation system in Fankou Lead-zinc Mine, which is divided into threeparallel production series.Profibus-DP communication interface is used in OEM PLC facility.SIEMENS PCS7 process control system is used in industrial automation system (DCS) and Metso OCS© adaptive control expert system software package is also added into the mineral processing expert system.The information-based system of the concentrator adopted independent research and development, the industrial video monitoring and LCD display system used independent design and assembly, while the measurement and detection employed advanced online detection instruments and meters.Automatic production and management in mineral processing plant are achieved after the application of the integrated design of these systems, instruments and meters, meanwhile, the lead concentrate, the zinc concentrate and the concentrate contained high grade of sulphur areproduced, the lead-zinc mixed concentrate is cancelled, the added value of products has increased, as well as production personnels are reduced 258 persons.The annual operating incomes and net profits of the concentrator are upby 79.70 million yuan and 53.85 million yuan, respectively.The after-tax incremental investment financial internal rate of return is 16.40%, which has achieved good economic benefits.
