Reasonable rock mass quality classification is an important basis for mining and support design of underground metal mines. In order to accurately classify the rock mass quality classification of broken ore body, based on engineering geological survey and rock mechanics test, three classification methods of RMR, Q-system and BQ are used to classify the quality of broken rock mass, and the multivariate data are normalized, so as to obtain the improved judgment standard of broken rock mass quality classification. The results show that the rock mass quality classification method based on multivariate data normalization processing is suitable for the broken rock mass of Sarek Copper Mine. The normalized average value of ore body quality classification Z=0.57, which is comprehensively determined as grade Ⅲ(close to grade Ⅱ), belonging to medium stable rock mass. The normalization processing of multi-class rock mass quality classification method can avoid the distortion caused by the error of parameter selection of a single method. The processing results are highly consistent with the engineering practice, and are suitable for the quality classification evaluation of similar surrounding rocks.
