Characteristics of coal quality and clean utilization of coal resources in Inner Mongolia

    • The coal resources are rich in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with 42 national coal planning mining areas, accounting for 25.9% of the national coal planning mining areas. In order to evaluate the clean conversion and utilization of coal resources in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, this paper takes the coal planning mining areas as the evaluation unit of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, refers to the potential evaluation index system of special coal resources, and analyzes the characteristics of vitrinite, inertinite and liptinite, and the ash, volatiles, total sulfur, hydrogen carbon atoms, and some process indicators to evaluate the utilization direction of liquefaction, gasification, and coking in the 42 national coal planning mining areas. The results show that there are abundant coal resources for direct liquefaction and gasification, but less coal for coking in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.Gasification coal is distributed in the Jurassic-Carboniferous coalfield in the Ordos Region, and is mainly concentrated in Shendong Large Coal Base. The direct liquefaction coal is distributed in the Early Cretaceous Coalfield in Xilinhot Area and mainly concentrated in the Eastern Inner Mongol Large Coal Base, and coking coal is only distributed in Wuhai Mining Area on the western edge of Ordos. The research results will provide important guiding significance for the clean and efficient utilization of coal resources and the scientific planning of coal in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
