Status and suggestions of mineral resources statistics in the new era

Mineral resources statistics is the fundamental guarantee to control resources and safeguard national energy security.It is also an important basis for understanding the changes of mining right market, grasping the channels of resource production, supply and marketing, and better exerting the market allocation of resources.Focusing on the specific practical requirements of reforming the property rights system for natural resources assets, paying for the use of natural resources and modernizing of China’s governance system and capacity, the present situation and existing problems of mineral resource statistics are summarized.This paper puts forward some suggestions on improving the statistic work of mineral resources by carrying out the responsibility of “unification of two” of the Ministry of Natural Resources.Firstly, to build a scientific and complete statistical system of mineral resources.Secondly, to establish a unified statistical index body of mineral resources and a unified statistical channel of mineral resources.Thirdly, to establish a statistical database for the whole chain management.Fourthly, to strengthen the construction of statistical personnel system, and statistical quality control.Fifthly, to strengthen the application of mineral resource statistics to meet the country’s demand for high-quality development.
