Discussion on radiation environmental monitoring for the development and utilization of associated radioactive ores

    • The development and utilization of associated radioactive ores will make radionuclides enter the environment through waste liquid, waste gas and solid waste, which may have a certain impact on environmental safety and public health. It is the technical guarantee of safety supervision to carry out the monitoring of surrounding radiation environment and effluent in the process of development and utilization of associated radioactive ores and to obtain scientific monitoring data. This paper analyzes the whole process monitoring and quality assurance of the monitoring in the environmental impact assessment stage, the monitoring during operation and the final state monitoring of decommissioning in the development and utilization of associated radioactive ores. The technical specifications and standards of radiation environmental monitoring for the development and utilization of associated radioactive ores in China are described.Discussing the problems of radiation environmental monitoring in the aspects of laws and regulations, monitoring technical specifications and standards, monitoring instruments, monitoring and supervision capabilities, and puts forward the improvement of relevant laws, regulations and departmental rules, the formulation of relevant monitoring technical specifications, technical guidelines, emission standards and quality standards of various environmental elements, and the strengthening of relevant monitoring instruments, strengthening grass-roots ecological environment monitoring and supervision capacity building.
