Strategic emerging industries have become an important force to guide future economic and social development. On the basis of sorting out the catalogue of China's strategic emerging industries, this paper determines the determination method of minerals in strategic emerging industries according to the development status, determines the types and quantities of mineral resources in China's strategic emerging industries, forecasts the demand for minerals in strategic emerging industries during the "14th five year plan" according to the industrial development trend, and analyzes the importance and irreplaceable.According to the determination results, the following conclusions are drawn.Firstly, the rapid development of strategic emerging industries will inevitably lead to a substantial increase in the demand for relevant important mineral resources. It is predicted that the mineral demand of strategic emerging industries during the "14th five year plan" will continue to grow at a high speed. The second is to determine the determination method of minerals in strategic emerging industries, and then determine the types and quantities of minerals in different strategic emerging industries.Among them, the new material industry is the industry with the largest number of minerals. The third is to define 55 kinds of strategic emerging industrial minerals in China, including 2 kinds of energy minerals, 4 kinds of ferrous metal minerals, 11 kinds of non-ferrous metal minerals, 3 kinds of precious metal minerals, 15 kinds of three rare minerals and 20 kinds of non-metallic minerals.
