In Nanhu Township and Wupu Town of Hami City, Xinjiang, a variety of geoheritage resources are developed. In order to clarify the geoheritage resources in the region and provide a scientific basis for better protection and utilization in the future, this paper investigates the main geoheritage in Nanhu Township and Wupu Town, and studies the influencing factors of the development potential of geoheritage resources, a multi factor and multi-level evaluation index system including 12 indexes in five aspects:scientific and educational value, aesthetic and ornamental value, cultural value, location conditions and infrastructure, and comprehensively evaluates the development potential by using the combination of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model. The results show that Nanhu Township and Wupu Town in Hami are rich in geoheritage resources with high ornamental and scientific research value. They have many world-class geoheritage resources, such as Yardang Landform pterosaurs and sauropods. The development endowment of six geoheritage concentration areas selected from Nanhu Township and Wupu Town show that they have great development potential, but there are common problems such as imperfect infrastructure, which restrict its development.Among them, the most ideal concentration areas of geoheritage are Dahaidao, Wupu Ghost City and Yardangs in Xiaonanhu Desert, followed by Nanhu Sand Mountain and Dananhu green mine, and finally Nanhu Grand Canyon. This paper provides a reference for the development and protection of geological relics in this area in the future.
