Research on the dynamic evolution of the global trade network pattern of titanium supply chain under the China-US trade war

    • Titanium has excellent properties such as high strength, low pollution and light weight, is a scarce and versatile strategic resource.Based on the perspective of supply chain, this paper taking titanium ore, sponge titanium, titanium dioxide and titanium products as the representative products of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the titanium supply chain, collecting world trade data for 4 products in 2015-2020, using the complex network theory, studying the global trade network structure characteristics and dynamic evolution trend of the three representative products in the upstream, middle and downstream of the titanium supply chain before and after the China-US trade war.The results show that there are obvious differences in the structural characteristics of the global trade network in different links of the titanium supply chain. The downstream trade network represented by titanium dioxide and titanium products has the shortest network distance, the largest network density and the largest aggregation coefficient.Trade networks in different links show significant small-world characteristics.China ranks first in the intermediary centrality and penetration of upstream trade network represented by titanium ore, and the centrality is far greater than that of other links.China has the strongest adjustment and control ability, and has strong demand for titanium ore. Before and after the trade war, in the downstream trade network of titanium dioxide, the intermediary centrality of Chinese nodes dropped from 12th to 17th, and in the upstream trade network of titanium ore, the intermediary centrality of American nodes dropped from 5th to 21th.China is a network level core country in the upstream and downstream trade network, and a node level core country in the midstream.
