The past and present life of Paleokarst and its petroleum geological significance

    • The exposed carbonate rocks are widely distributed in China, and the karst morphological assemblages are rich and complex. The buried paleokarst provides excellent hiding place for deep karst geothermal resources and karst oil and gas resources due to its unique space of dissolution pores, caves and fractures. Lotus root is connected between paleokarst, deep karst and modern karst. The paleokarst reservoirs of carbonate rocks in oil-gas sedimentary basins are the final assemblage formed by the superimposed transformation of multi-stage karstification in geological history. It is of great significance to study the development law and geological model of paleokarst in carbonate rocks in oil-gas sedimentary basins to find favorable areas of paleokarst reservoirs and to predict effective reservoirs.
