Evaluation of hot dry rock resources in Ningbo area based on volume method

    • Ningbo City is a big energy-consuming city with a high proportion of fossil energy, which puts great pressure on the construction of low-carbon cities. At the same time, Ningbo City is located in the South China fold system, in the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province, which belongs to the Moho steep slope belt, with a high background value of terrestrial heat flow, and great relative potential of hot dry rock resources. In this paper, the characteristics of deep thermal background in Ningbo City are systematically sorted out, and the 4-10 km deep temperature field model in Ningbo City is built.Based on the automatic calculation of SURFER software, the volume method is used to calculate that the amount of hot dry rock resources with shallow temperature above 150 ℃ in Ningbo area is 2.35×1022 J, and the amount of hot dry rock resources per unit area in Ningbo is slightly lower than the national average, but higher than the average in Zhejiang Province.According to the lower limit of 2% of the exploitable hot dry rock resources, the exploitable amount of hot dry rock resources in Ningbo City is equivalent to 389 of the total energy consumption in 2019.At present, the hot dry rock resources with economic development depth (4-6 km) account for about 10.7%, mainly distributed in the northern part of Cixi, which can be used as a priority target area for exploration and development of hot dry rocks in Ningbo area and even Zhejiang area in the future.
