Analysis of exploration and development of mineral resources and mining investment environment in Armenia

Located in the Tethys metallogeny belt, Armenia has rich solid mineral resources based on superior mineralization geological conditions.It has low geological survey degree and greater investment potential.This paper summary the situation of exploration and development of major mineral resources, the regulations on mining management in Armenia, analyzes the favorable conditions and factors of mining investment, and give suggestions for Chinese enterprises to invest in Armenia.The research results show that Armenia is rich in mineral resources such as copper, molybdenum, gold, lead, zinc and silver, the investment in exploration and development has fluctuated at a low level in recent years.Gold, copper and other minerals resources are most important commodities in mining investment.The Ministry of Land Management and Infrastructure is the mining authority in Armenia, and the Subsoil Lawis the most important law related to its mining development, which stipulates the types of mining rights, relevant taxes and fees, etc.The Subsoil Lawhas been continuously revised in recent years.This paper suggest that Chinese enterprises should connect with the Armenia’s mining development plan, continue to pay attention to changes in mining policies, strengthen project evaluation and feasibility studies, and actively participate in Armenia’s mining development.
