Exploration and practice of green and low-carbon development path for large coal enterprises

Shendong Coal is the main production area of traditional coal energy in China. Since its establishment, it has actively implemented the ecological protection and green and low-carbon strategy of the Yellow River Basin, and committed to creating a “coal sea oasis” in the ecological zone of the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River. This paper elaborates on the necessity and feasibility of carrying out green and low-carbon development in the Shendong Mining Area. It reviews the construction process and development direction of the Shendong Coal green and low-carbon development system from three aspects: building a healthy and stable ecosystem, a safe, clean and efficient energy system, and a green and low-carbon circular industry system. In the future, Shendong Coal will further explore the path of green and low-carbon development, promote the opening of a new era in the coal industry, create a leading demonstration of green and low-carbon development in coal industry, and provide a construction model and demonstration benchmark that can be referenced, replicated, and promoted for ecological protection and green and low-carbon development in the national coal industry.
