Abstract
Based on the data of the “National Geological Exploration Progress Information System”, this paper summarizes and statistics the change of investment of China’s non-oil/gas geological exploration from 2006 to 2023, analyzes the main characteristics of China’s non-oil/gas geological exploration situation in 2023, and forecasts the situation of China’s non-oil/gas geological exploration in 2024. In 2023, China’s investment in geological exploration reached 20.07 billion yuan, marking a 7.7% increase and continuing the positive growth trend for three consecutive years. The professional structure of non-oil/gas exploration investment continued to adjust, the focus of geological exploration investment shifted to the western region, and the proportion of non-oil/gas mineral exploration investment continued to increase. In 2023, the prices of global bulk metal mineral products were high and volatile and downward, and the global investment in non-oil/gas mineral exploration decreased by 2.5% year-on-year, while China’s non-oil/gas mineral exploration investment increased by 18.5% year-on-year, mainly due to the continuous improvement of China’s mining policy environment and the increase in the number and area of registered exploration rights. Looking forward to 2024, the national non-oil/gas geological exploration investment will maintain a rising development trend, and is expected to increase by about 10%.
