Deep metal mining will face the complex engineering geological environment of “three highs and one disturbance”, which will inevitably lead to a significant increase in the disaster risk such as high-stress geopressure disasters, high-pressure water hazards, and high-temperature heat hazards, etc. Comprehensive and effective control and management of engineering disaster risks in deep mining is essential for the safe and efficient mining of deep metal mines. And the development of new quality productive forces is a strategic choice to lead the safe and efficient mining of deep metal mines. In order to systematically summarize China’s useful exploration in developing new quality productive forces for safe and efficient mining in deep metal mines, new progress in risk control and treatment technology of deep metal mine mining safe is systematically introduced with the deep mining practice of Maoping Lead-Zinc Mine as an example, and the future development directions of new quality productive forces is discussed and pondered. The research has innovated the overall mining planning method for the whole life cycle of the ore body considering the source control of geopressure disaster risk, put forward the roof stability control method of the filling body in roadhead mining, and established the optimization technology of filling and pipeline transportation based on the monitoring of pipeline pressure; put forward a series of methods and technologies such as pre-evaluation of the dynamic disaster risk, identification and analysis of the dynamic disaster risk and treatment of the dynamic disaster risk, and formed the risk grading and zoning control technology of deep high stress and strong disturbing dynamic disaster, and initially realized the dynamic control of dynamic disaster risk in deep metal mine mining; developed a mine water surge early warning system, realized the accurate early warning and emergency response of water surge trend, and put forward the key technology of comprehensive prevention and control of water hazards, which is mainly based on the fine depiction of the hydrogeological structure in mines, the systematic construction of the water damage prediction and evaluation system, and the comprehensive water prevention and control technology; a set of mine multi-source data fusion 3D visualization and control system has been developed, which realizes multi-source data fusion sharing and analysis, and assisted in realizing the safety early warning decision-making and engineering design optimization of the mine production process. In the future, the field of deep metal mining should comprehensively improve the level of deep disaster risk control, give full play to the leading role of new quality productive forces, and help to realize the intrinsic safety and high efficiency mining of deep metal mines.
