    Design and protection of lithium ion batteries for coal mines

    • The harsh working environment in coal mines has raised higher requirements for the reliability and safety of power supply equipment. Lithium ion batteries have become an ideal choice for coal mine energy storage systems due to their high energy density and long cycle life. However, lithium-ion batteries have certain safety hazards under high load conditions and need to be optimized and protected according to the special needs of coal mines. This article analyzes the design principles of lithium-ion batteries used in coal mines, focusing on the prevention and control strategies for faults such as overcharging, over discharging, short circuits, and high temperatures. Through practical engineering cases, the feasibility and application effects of optimized design are demonstrated. Research has shown that adopting measures such as active balancing, hardware protection, and thermal management can effectively improve the safety and reliability of battery systems, providing a solid energy guarantee for safe and efficient mining in coal mines.
