Exploration of application scenarios of digital twin technology in physical geological data management

    • Traditional methods for managing physical geological data rely on manual operations, physical storage, and on-site services, leading to inefficiencies, high loss rates, and inadequate data security. With the development of information technology, digital twin technology has begun to be explored and applied in the geological field, demonstrating significant potential in the management of physical geological data. This paper examines the application scenarios of digital twin technology in physical geological data management services, focusing on its potential in core sampling, transportation, preservation, and service delivery. The possible benefits of these applications are analyzed, and the key technical frameworks for different scenarios are studied. Recommendations are provided for standardization, talent development, and technical infrastructure construction to facilitate the integration of digital twin technology with physical geological data management, offering a reference for future advancements in this field.
