Abstract
Open-pit mines are one of the main scenarios for 5G technology application in the industrial field. Innovative 5G convergence solutions such as remote control of electric shovels and self-driving of mine cards are gradually applied. Due to the mobility of mining equipment and the complexity and changeability of mine terrain, intelligent applications have high requirements on real-time and reliability of communication networks, and pose challenges to accurate planning and optimization of 5G networks. Based on the background of promoting the intelligent application of 5G remote mining technology in open-pit mine of Panzhihua Steel, this paper analyzes the 5G key technologies Massive MIMO and beamforming. According to the topographical conditions and production operation characteristics of metal open-pit mine, the calculation and selection method of the 3D coverage beam scenario is designed and applied in the 5G private network of Zhulan Iron Mine. The practice proves that the 5G network using the 3D coverage pattern can flexibly adapt to the complex terrain of open-pit mining face and meet service requirements, effectively ensuring the production, effectiveness and intrinsic safety of 5G remote mining intelligent applications.
