    Exploration and practice of the integrated construction of popular science education for all of earth sciences: taking China University of Geosciences(Beijing) as an example

    • Earth science popularization education is an important part of the popularization of science and technology in the new era, which plays an important role in improving the national earth science literacy, promoting sustainable social development, enhancing national competitiveness, promoting cultural prosperity and social harmony, and accelerating the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Taking China University of Geosciences (Beijing) as an example, this paper makes a detailed analysis of the current situation of the integration of popular science education in earth sciences in China. The paper points out that at present, there is an uneven distribution of resources in the popular science base and a lack of development stamina. The target group of earth science popularization is not highly targeted, and the creation of popular science content and the form of popular science communication need to be further innovated and developed. Grass-roots units do not pay enough attention to science popularization, and there is a lack of effective incentive mechanism for the construction of high-level science popularization teams; It is difficult to quantitatively evaluate the effect of earth science popularization, and the waste of science popularization resources is obvious. In view of the above problems, this paper puts forward the following countermeasures and suggestions: firstly, to optimize the resource allocation of earth science popularization bases, and further accelerate the process of science popularization of science and technology venues in universities; secondly, to refine the target group of earth science popularization, and continuously innovate and develop the form of science popularization; thirdly, to strengthen the construction of grassroots organizations of the Association for Science and Technology of Colleges and Universities, and fully stimulate the enthusiasm of scientific research personnel; fourth, to standardize the evaluation system of the effect of popular science publicity in earth sciences, and effectively improve the effect of popular science propaganda and other relevant reference suggestions, so as to give full play to the role of scientific and technological workers in colleges and universities as the main force of popular science, and accelerate the realization of the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
