Soil geochemical anomalies characteristics and prospecting prediction of the Huheqiaolong Area in Central Province, Mongolia

    • Mongolia is rich in mineral resources, but the level of geological exploration remains relatively low. Huheqiaolong is located in central Mongolia, in the northern section of the iron-copper-molybdenum polymetallic metallogenic belt in the southwestern part of the fluorite metallogenic belt of the Eastern Mongolia Metallogenic Province. To explore the mineral potential of the Huheqiaolong Area, a 1∶10 000 soil geochemical survey is conducted in the region. Based on the survey results, from a statistical perspective, the elements with significant mineralization potential in the soil of the working area are Mo, Au, and W. These elements exhibit large variation coefficients, reflecting medium- to low-temperature hydrothermal mineralization processes. Based on the anomalies and the geological characteristics of the study area, a class A1 comprehensive anomaly zone has been delineated, providing a solid foundation for the next steps in mineral exploration.
