Abstract
Tianhuashan volcanic basin has a good geologic setting of uranium mineralization, and has found a large number of uranium mineralization anomalies on the shallow surface. With the shift of uranium prospecting space to deeper, it is urgent to establish an effective comprehensive geophysical prospecting technique to improve the reliability of interpretation and prospecting effect. Taking the comprehensive geophysical prospecting of uranium deposits in Tianhuashan volcanic basin as an example, the deep relationship between acid lava or pyroclastic rocks of Ehuling Formation of Upper Jurassic, monzonite porphyry of early Yanshanian and the characteristics of faults development are roughly identified by using the comprehensive geophysical prospecting including high-precision magnetic surveys, magnetotelluric, and soil radon. Combined with the regional metallogenic regularity, the favorable areas of uranium mineralization are predicted. The effectiveness of geophysical combination has been verified by the later drilling holes. The results have provided a basis and reference for exploring deep uranium mineralization in Tianhuashan volcanic basin.
