Abstract
Open-pit abandoned limestone mines have brought about a series of ecological and geological environmental problems. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to construct a framework covering the entire process of their ecological restoration and evaluation, therefore an overall plan of “comprehensive evaluation, precise diagnosis, and zonal governance” has been proposed. Based on the theory of ecological geology, a set of evaluation index system covering ecological, geological and disaster environments of mine eco-geological environment is constructed and successfully applied to the abandoned open-pit limestone mine project of Matoushan in Jinan City. The combined weighted matter-element extension model in the research can accurately evaluate the current situation of the area studied. The key indicators affecting the area studied environment have been precisely identified by the adopted obstacle degree model: soil erosion degree > vegetation coverage> destruction and occupation of mine land> destruction of topography and geomorphology landscape> comprehensive index of soil nutrients > geological disasters> biodiversity index, a scientific basis has been provided for the formulation of restoration measures. Based on on-site geological surveys, appropriate ecological restoration models should be selected to carry out zonal governance of the mining area, giving full play to the role of natural restoration.
