    Application of heat-modified attapulgite/polyacrylamide for polluted river water treatment

    • A kind of titled composite flocculating agent was synthesized by addition of heat-modified attapulgite to polyacrylamide. By means of FT-IR,we can find that heat-modified attapulgite and polyacrylamide combined effectively by graft polymerization. After the treatment of the polluted river water by composite flocculating agent,the results of COD and turbidity show that when adding 50mg/L composite of flocculating agent the good results can be achieved. Meanwhile, the COD removal rate can be up to 45.6%, turbidity removal rate can up to 66.3%.And there is significant synergistic effect between attapulgite and PAM.
