Collecting performance of new collectors on quartz at room temperature

Abstract
There still exist problems of pulp need to be heated and too large the dosage of collector in iron ore reverse flotation.Thus,two new collectors DMA-1 and DMA-2 had been prepared in order to solve the problems,and flotation experiments of pure quartz were conducted.At the condition of temperature 18℃,pH 7.7,and DMA-1 dosage 50mg/L quartz recovery is 99%;and at the condition of temperature 18℃,pH 10.56,and DMA-2 dosage 25 mg/L,quartz recovery is up to 99.8%.The results show that the amount of DMA-2 used is less than that of DMA-1.And both these two collectors have strong collecting ability at temperate of 18℃.Mechanism Analysis according to the results of FTIR and zeta potential show that reactions between molecules of DMA-1 and DMA-2,and the surface of the quartz are mainly electrostatic adsorption and hydrogen reaction.
