    Collecting performance of new collectors on quartz at room temperature

    • There still exist problems of pulp need to be heated and too large the dosage of collector in iron ore reverse flotation.Thus,two new collectors DMA-1 and DMA-2 had been prepared in order to solve the problems,and flotation experiments of pure quartz were conducted.At the condition of temperature 18℃,pH 7.7,and DMA-1 dosage 50mg/L quartz recovery is 99%;and at the condition of temperature 18℃,pH 10.56,and DMA-2 dosage 25 mg/L,quartz recovery is up to 99.8%.The results show that the amount of DMA-2 used is less than that of DMA-1.And both these two collectors have strong collecting ability at temperate of 18℃.Mechanism Analysis according to the results of FTIR and zeta potential show that reactions between molecules of DMA-1 and DMA-2,and the surface of the quartz are mainly electrostatic adsorption and hydrogen reaction.
