Abstract
A large mass of acid mineral drainage(AMD) with mining is thus released into environment where makes an serious effect on human being and other living things. In this experimental work, the iron ore was laminated by citric acid chelating after hydrogen peroxide oxidation so as to explore whether citric acid laminating has an effectively prevent capability in AMD production. The results showed that in comparison to control, the iron ore laminated by citric acid had increased a clear resistant to sour corrosion and thus decreased the formation of acid mineral drainage. The protective effectiveness in the 0.3mol/L citric acid group was up to 68% in three weeks and a distinct resistant to acidic corrosion was still observed in these experimental cases after iron ore was eroded one quarter. Thus it was suggested that citric acid laminating technology could make ore an effective resistant to acidification and could be applied in treatment and prevention from acid mineral drainage.
