Study on performance of ultra-thin asphalt concrete pavement

Performance of typical ultra-thin asphalt concrete pavements of SMA-10 and SAC-10 were studied through laboratory tests. Concise performance analysis and economic evaluation of ultra-thin asphalt mixes were also given. The results show that the median gradation of SAC-10 is suitable for ultra-thin asphalt concrete pavement, but the median gradation of SMA-10 is better for heavy traffic pavement in hot and wetter climate regions based on analysis of technology and economic evaluation.
