Based on fractal remote sensing geological features and metallogenic prognosis in Zamyn-Uud of Mongolia

    • Zamyn-Uud area of Mongolia is located in an important active continental margin porphyry Cu,Mo,Au mineralization zone.Poor geographic and climatic conditions of this area and the low degree of geological work make preliminary remote sensing prospecting work significant.By analyzing the regional metallogenic geologic conditions, line and ring structures are interpreted based on ETM data and the method of fractal geometry is utilized to quantitatively analyze these lines. The linear density-area fractal method is used for the first time to calculate the line-ring structure anomaly areas and density of the line-ring structures has good statistical self-similarity and fractal characteristics. Then principal component and grayarea fractal methods are used to extract argillization and iron staining alteration anomalies. In this study,a fracture-based,ring-controlled and alteration-positioned remote sensing prospecting idea is established, which proved to have satisfactory effect through field verification.
