    Comprehensive utilization of an old iron tailings in Yunnan

    • An old tailings in Yunnan province contains 28.28% Fe,and hematite and limonite are the major iron minerals.Since the hematite and limonite grains are finely disseminated and some fill in or replace the holes of dolomite,calcite and other carbonates in the forms of fragment,it is hard to obtain qualified iron products.To recover the iron minerals,based on a large amount of tests,a process of "high intensity magnetic roughing - regrinding - high intensity magnetic cleaning" has been introduced.The result shows that an iron concentrate 1 assaying 62.52% Fe with a recovery of 39.42% and an iron concentrates 2 assaying 58.95% Fe with a recovery of 17.49% could be obtained,respectively,and the total recovery of iron could reach 56.91%,which indicates a satisfying industrial production process.
