Managing institution of coal in India

Coal is an important energy resource in India. In order to promote the development of the coal industry and guarantee the supply of coal, the Indian government set up a set of managing institution, which is based on the state-ownership of coal mines and with planning as the main method of management. In recent years, Indian government made some adjustment to the institution with the aim of enhancing the role of market in the development of the coal industry.
