    Conical section design of hydrocyclone with dual cone based on orthogonal design and computational fluid dynamics simulation

    • Based on orthogonal design and computational fluid dynamics simulation,the effects of upper and lower cone angle,and conical section junction diameter of the dual cone hydrocyclone on performance were investigated,in terms of energy consumption and cut size.Within the scope of this study,variance analysis results show that the change of the mentioned structure parameter has no effect on the cyclone energy consumption,and the lower cone angle has the highly significant effect on the cut size,and the conical section junction diameter has significant effect on the cut size.Comprehensive analysis shows that with the decrease of lower cone angle and the diameter of conical section junction,cut size decreases significantly.The results can be used as a reference in optimizing the structure of the dual cone cyclone.
