The study on oil and gas resources and investment environment in the northeast Africa

There are four structure styles of sedimentary basins in the notrheast Africa, including intra-plate depression basins, rift basins, divergent and passive continental margin basins and deltaic basins. In intra-plate depression basins, oil and gas distribute in Palaeozoic group and Mesozoic group, in Mesozoic group and Cenozoic group of Mesozoic rift basins, and in Cenozoic group of Mesozoic rift basins, and in Cenozoic group of Cenozoic rift basins and deltaic basins. Although the exploration degree is lower, 156 oil and gas fields were discovered in 8 basins, and oil and gas shows in 7 basins. On the basis of friendly cooperation, we should enhance the exploration and research on Mesozoic rift basins, Cenozoic basins and divergent and passive continental margin basins which may have a great prospect of oil and gas resources.
