The carbonate microfacies and sedimentary environments of Buqu Formation in Buruocuo Tibet

    • The observation of carbonate thin sections under the microscope, as a basic method, that could provide a very important information for microfacies analysis. Through the method of microfacies analysis, we study the carbonate microfacies and sedimentary environments of Buqu Formation in Buruocuo, Tibet. Ten kinds of carbonate microfacies have been divided according to observation under a microscope of its grains, biological combination, matrix type and structural characteristics through rock thin sections from Buqu Formation in Duxueshan area. According to the characteristics of each microfacies and measured section, combing previous studies, we think that the Buqu Formation carbonates formed in ramp facies sedimentary environments and five subfacies and four sedimentary microfacies are proposed. Basing the above research finding, we derived the sedimentary
