Case study on multi-national copper business of Chinese mining enterprises

As a strategic non-ferrous metal, copper is greatly needed in the rapid development of China's industrialization. The domestic copper manufacture and copper industry donot meet the demand. China's mining enterprises are exploring to go overseas, using two kinds of resources (national and international) and two markets (domestic and overseas), to ease the contradiction between supply and demand of copper, in the process of economic globalization and integration in the mining industry. Based on the analysis of domestic copper supply and demand, with the data of copper and copper products import and export showing that our copper trade deficit exists, this paper studied several successful cases of Chinese mining enterprises' international business with foreign mining companies to develop copper resources and copper international trade.
