FLOATABILITY OF MAGNETITE AND CHLORITE BY DODECYLAMINE
-
Abstract
Floatability of magnetite and chlorite by dodecylamine, and the influence of sodium hexametaphosphate on it were studied by the experiments of flotation and zeta potential measurement. The results indicate that magnetite and chlorite were collected effectively only at the pH greater than the PZC of the minerals. The adsorption of dodecylamine on the minerals is mainly due to physical action. Sodium hexametaphosphate distinctly changed the zeta potential of magnetite and chlorite and depressed their floatability by dodecylamine because of the strong chemical action between it and the minerals.
