REVIEW OF THEORETICAL STUDY AND ENGINEERING PRACTICE OF TAILINGS DAM CONSTRUCTED WITH UPSTREAM METHOD IN CHINA

The safety of tailings dam constucted with upstream method(TDM),which is main style of tailings dam in China,is very important.In this paper,theoretical study and engineering practice of TDM,including dam construction,seepage,drainage,seismic response,management,monitoring,and environmental impact,is reviewed.As an emphases,the study result of Dashihe Tailings Dam is introduced.Finally,the future study based on seepage is discussed as the remarks.These contents may have reference to design and management of TDM during the middle and latter periods.
