Analysis of future global rare earth supply and demand pattern

Rare earth is indispensable for modern industrial development due to its strategic value,it is Chinese preponderant mineral resources.This paper predicts the demand of global and Chinese rare earth in 2020 based on the distribution,supply and demand of global rare earth resources,they are 264 thousand tons and 175 thousand tons.By analyzing new rare earth projects abroad quantitatively,the paper indicates foreign supply will increase dramatically in future,then china will face fierce competition.Lastly the following suggestions are put forward:Strengthen the integration of southern rare earth resources;formulate and publish in long-term supply plan to win the trust of consumer;strengthen the exploration of heavy rare earth to consolidate our dominant status in the international market.
