The study of landscape design and ecological restoration of abandoned quarry

Abandoned quarry is a land type that causes great destruction to ecological environment, destroying the cities’ visualization and leads to waste of land resource. It is a very sticky problem about how to carry on the rational transformation to form the sustainable and utilizable land mode. Traditional slope engineering laid stress only on the slope safety and reliability and in its support, the stability was often taken as the main point and not enough attention was paid to the landscape design. Taking engineering renovation to the Forest Park of Changgang Mountain in Zhoushan city as an example, a preliminary plan for ecosystem and landscape restoration of the abandoned quarries was put forward. The plan comprised engineering renovation, landscape reconstruction, reafforestation and ecological restoration, constructing abundant ecological landscape and artificial landscape, which had a demonstrating function for the ecosystem instauration and landscape design of abandoned quarries.
