Study on Auto-height adjustment system for shearer based on virtual instrument

Abstract
The paper put forward a new automatic adjustment method based on Virtual Instrument, considering the traditional memory cutting method, the combination of shearer vibration signal and cutting motor current signal. We analyzed the advantages and disadvantages of traditional memory cutting method, and the vibration signal was also analyzed; work characteristics of the cutting motor was analyzed, including the changes of cutting speed and change of current, provided a more reasonable theoretical basis for the current detection method. Finally, we established shearer signal detection system based on Virtual Instrument according to the characteristics of signal, and hardware system was settled; for identification of coal and rock and adjustment we also set up the vibration signal and the current signal analysis program and automatic control program based on LABVIEW. We simulated the control process by establishing the analog current signal and vibration signal based on LABVIEW. The results show that the automatic control system based on Virtual Instrument is feasible.
