    STUDY ON THE PURIFICATION OF JIEPAI KAOLINE BY VIBRATING HGMS

    • The problem to remove iron and titanium contaminantions from kaoline has still need to besolved pressingly in ceramic industry in China. In this paper, it is studied that various factors influenceon the efficiency of removing iron and titanium from Jiepai kaoline (Fe2O3+TiO2,>0. 85%)by meansof vibrating high-gradient magnetic separation (HGMS). The results showed that Kaoline productcontaining minus 0. 5% of (Fe2O3+TiO2) was produced with its yeild of plus 85% and its whitenesswas improved from 61. 3% to 70.3% after separating. But, the total content of (Fe2O3 +TiO2) can bedecreased to minus 0. 4% after cleaning.
