FUNCTIONS AND COMPONENTS OF A DIGITAL MINE OPERATION SYSTEM

The fast advancing information technology and its wide spreading application present new opportunities to and impose increasing pressure on mining enterprises.The term“digtal mine operation system”has consequently been brought out and is being put on some decision makers' agenda in the mining industry.The aim of this paper is to clarify this newly emerged term and outline the functions and system components of a digital mine operation system based on the current technological possibilities.
