    Global mining outlook in 2012

    • The global economy will be in depth adjustment and downside risks increasing in next year. With the global economic changes in the pattern, the global mining pattern is also changing. Non-traditional energy and minerals, such as shale gas, will play an important role in future supply of raw material and energy. More spending is needed for exploration and development in mineral-rich countries. Some major mining projects influenced by many negative factors. Copper and some other minerals will be in shortage in the next year. M&A will be active and struggling for mine assets also intense. Resources nationalization has become the biggest challenge facing the global mining, reflected in the rising of rates of taxes.
