ON THE SYSTEMS ENGINEERING IN THE MINERAL INDUSTRY

This paper reviews the historical development of computers and operations research applications in the mineral industries, defines the research field of mineral industrial systems engineering and its scope, summarizes the achievements and the problems in this respect in China, and indicates some developing trends in the near future.
