    Effect of DA dispersant on the grinding efficiency of bauxite and its mechanisms

    • The effect of DA dispersant on the grinding efficiency of bauxite was studied and the mechanisms was also analyzed in this paper by measuring the absorption characteristics, grinding pulp viscosity, the surface electric potential of the bauxite and the surface appearance of particles. The results showed that the content of-0.074mm in the ground product was increased by 3.64 percent points under the same grinding conditions using DA dispersant as grinding aid. The physical adsorption and chemical adsorption were occurred on the bauxite surface, which could reduce the pulp viscosity, change the surface electric potential of the bauxite and enhance the surface appearance of particles. But the effect of DA dispersant on the surface hardness of the bauxite was very low.
