    High-power IP method application in the metallogenic prediction of Lorelei copper mine in Namibia

    • In the article,the geological characteristics and the application case of high power IP method to prospecting at Lorlei copper deposit is introduced.Based on the records of IP and Symmetrical Quadrupole Sounding,the distribution and the rough buried depth of the anomalous body characterized by mid to higher resistance and higher polarization are inferred in Lorlei prospect.According to the exploration datum of trenching and drilling,it's demonstrated that the anomaly of mid to higher resistance and higher polarization represents the mineralization body composed of copper,molybdenum,iron and other metal sulfide,which not only does it suggest direction of exploration in and around Lorlei prospect,but also provided valuable experiences for electrical prospecting on arid region in southern Africa.
