MIXED ANALYSIS ON SLOPE SABILITY BY LIMIT EQUILIBRIUM METHOD AND FINITE ELEMENT METHOD

Based on limit balance method and finite element method,computer analogue and calculations analysis are carried out to the stability.We get the form and position of failure surface,and then calculate factor of safety with general limit equilibrium method.The nonlinear stress-strain relationship was considered,meanwhile the calculation of safety factor of slope becames easy.Also repeating calculation based on limit balance method was avoided.The two methods can be supplementary to each other through associate application.So respective merit of them has been brought to play fully.
