A preliminary study on the framework of digital resources directory System of National Geological Archives of China

With the rapid development of science and technology, digital geological data plays an increasingly important role in social construction.The geological data catalogue is the core means for the description, organization and management of geological data, and also the premise and foundation of electronic management and service.From the view of the current status of the catalogue resources of the National Geological Archives, the necessity of constructing the directory system and the framework of the National Geological Archives are discussed in the paper.The authors put forward the measures to promote the construction of digital resources directory system in China, which includes development and optimization of catalog models, development directory system, enhances the work of directory maintenance and update, and explores a variety of directory service patterns.
