Evaluation of stability of a landslide in earthquake-stricken area in Heishuichang,Sichan

Abstract
The landslide is situated at the severe earthquake-stricken area-the town of Heishuichang, Pingwu County in Sichuan, which belongs to middle-sized landslide. There has been large deformation after the "5.12" earthquake. In addition, fractures can be found in some parts of the landslide and slumping happen partially. The landslide deforms furthermore after the "9.23" storm and creeps more seriously. Recently, the sliding is mainly in the form of partial slipping and collapse. Under the influence of frequent after-shock and storm, the landslide in this area is of high possibility to lose the stability, which will cause large quantities of severe losses for the near-by residents’ lives and properties. Based on the field survey, drilling, laboratory experiments, etc., firstly the paper analyzes the mechanism and the stability of the landslide in quake-stricken area. And then it chooses the section to calculate and finally puts forwards the preventive measures. As a survey example, the parameters chosen for calculation and model-building are highly typical and representative.
